Odds
in My Favor
Odds in favor of my claim of there being a single root of all the ills - biological ills including eyesight problems of the error of refraction, mental ills and the social ills as well as the basic ill of the mediocrity of performance; and it being possible to instantaneously undo the same - do stand there too, although a few; but those few only stand quite tall! The first one is the work - in theory and practice - of Dr. W.H.Bates - a research oriented American ophthalmologist who, in the earlier part of the twentieth century, corrected the eyesight problems of thousands of his patients and presented his work in his famous book The Cure Of Imperfect Sight By Treatment Without Glasses as a new approach to the understanding of the physiology of ophthalmology against the officially accepted line of the classical German ophthalmology. "A truth is strengthened by an accumulation of facts. A working hypothesis is proved not to be a truth if a single fact is not in harmony with it. The accepted theories of accommodation and of the cause of errors of refraction require that a multitude of facts shall be explained away. During more than thirty years of clinical experience, I have not observed a single fact that was not in harmony with the belief that the lens and the ciliary muscle have nothing to do with accommodation and that the changes in the shape of the eyeball upon which errors of refraction depend are not permanent. My clinical observations have of themselves been sufficient to demonstrate this fact. They have also been sufficient to show how errors of refraction can be produced at will, and how they may be cured, temporarily in a few minutes, and permanently by continued treatment." But, alas, his assertion was not given the official recognition because people did not have the required patience to appreciate the completeness and totality of his (generally) slow moving procedure. He himself admitted to it in the above-mentioned book: "The time required to effect a permanent cure varies greatly with different individuals. In some cases five, ten, or fifteen minutes is sufficient, and I believe the time is coming when it will be possible to cure everyone quickly. It is only a question of accumulating more facts, and presenting these facts in such a way that the patient can grasp them quickly. At present, however, it is often necessary to continue the treatment for weeks and months, although the error of refraction may be no greater nor of longer duration than in those cases that are cured quickly." At one other place, he noted: "The condition of mind in which a black period can be remembered cannot be attained by any sort of effort. The memory is not the cause of the relaxation, but must be preceded by it. It is obtained only during moments of relaxation, and retained only as long as the causes of strain are avoided; but how this is accomplished cannot be fully explained, just as many other psychological phenomena cannot be explained. We only know that under certain conditions that might be called favorable a degree of relaxation sufficient for the memory of a black period is possible, and that, by persistently seeking these conditions, the patient becomes able to increase the degree of the relaxation and prolong its duration, and finally becomes able to retain it under unfavorable conditions." Fortunately, I have been able to squeeze the time required to effect a permanent cure to almost instantaneously and to replace 'the condition of mind that is required to accomplish it' with a condition of body posture and face expression that immediately brings the said condition of mind as well as instantaneous cure of vision. The only thing then left is to turn this knowledge of the right body posture and the right face expression into one's first nature which is a very easy job to accomplish! And the things don't end here only. They go farther. As Bates noted at one place: "Since central fixation is impossible without mental control, central fixation of the eye means central fixation of the mind. It means, therefore, health in all parts of the body, for all the operations of the physical mechanism depend upon the mind. Not only the sight, but all the other senses - touch, taste, hearing and smell - are benefited by central fixation. All the vital processes - digestion, assimilation, elimination, etc. - are improved by it. The symptoms of functional and organic diseases arc relieved. The efficiency of the mind is enormously increased. The benefits of central fixation already observed are, in short, so great that the subject merits further investigation." This central fixation of Bates is nothing else but the focus that the mind body achieves as a result of turning the correct body posture and the correct face expression into one's first nature and thus being ready as well as relaxed all the time. The second tall figure standing in favor of my claim is the whole body of intuitive knowledge of the chakra system in the human body that the ancient Vedic scriptures gave to the world albeit in a very mystical language; and that, luckily, I have been able to transform to a clear-cut system of the correct body posture and the correct face expression that almost instantaneously opens the said chakras denuding them of their mystic aura and their distance from the common man around. As is said about them: "Chakras are points of energy in our bodies that help our body, mind, and spirit function at peak levels, and transmit energy between the psychic, astral, mental, and emotional levels of of our consciousness. The word "chakra" was originally "cakra" and meant "wheel," refering to the Aryans who invaded India (2000-600 A.D.) on chariots. The word was also a metaphor for the sun (which was like a wheel in the sky) and denotes the great eternal wheel of time, representing celestial order and balance. Our bodies are integrally linked to our minds, and the chakras correspond with different, specific aspects of how our bodies, minds, and spirits work together to create one living being." I stand where the scientific formulation of Dr. W.H.Bates and the obscure system of the mystical knowledge of chakras meet together and I, recognizing the two to be the same, merge them into one simple language of the correct body posture and the correct face expression that is so easy to be learnt and followed by all and sundry! I call it a revolution. .....And my assertion gets its first-hand support from my success stories. |
